Proverbs 31 Marriage: Husband Challenge Day #1

Project #1

30 Minutes is All it Takes

Create Some Free Time When He Gets Home

“There’s never enough time to do all the nothing you want.”
~Bill Watterson, Calvin and Hobbes

Your Project:

Focus on your husbands transitional 30 minutes today. Would he like to be left alone to rest and rejuvenate, or does he want some undivided attention from you? The point is to let your husband know you value what he does out in the world, and that he has a safe loving place to come home and get refreshed at the end of the day.

This seems so simple, and yet such a hard one to stick to. I will confess, and I’m sure if you’re also a mom you’ll understand, after a long day with the kids there are evenings when the three of us are waiting anxiously at the back door when Jerad pulls into the garage.   The boys are ready for daddy play time and I’m ready to make his ears bleed with the need to fulfill my daily adult conversation quota.  Poor Jerad.

Of course on the first day of the challenge, the boys were being stinkers and I had a migrane the size of Texas.  When Jerad walked through the door he knew we were not at our best and Daddy was needed.  Thank you Jesus, and Jerad.

So, needless to say Jerad didn’t get the 30 minutes of down time (yet!) but later in the evening I did talk to him about what he needs to switch gears and rejuvenate!

Always a work in progress over here!
