Baby Update & Valentines Day!

Hubby and I went to our most recent Dr. appointment to go over our most recent ultrasound scans. Since Liam was our “little” 10.5lbs surprise and the labor was like a horror story you’d share with teenagers to promote abstinence, my doctors were watching me and baby much more closely. After talking with our doctor, the decision was made that I should plan on having a C-section at 39 weeks, unless my water broke before, and then I would take a go at it naturally. While the doctor stepped out to check on a date that would work, Jerad and I started talking about what we wanted to do on Valentines day. Looks like we’ll be spending Love Day in the hospital because February 13th is our scheduled C-section! I’m super excited, a little nervous, but ready to meet my baby!
A little heart to heart with you: I’m struggling a little with the idea of having a C-section. Maybe it’s the idea of being cut open, or the possible health effects on the baby, or maybe it’s because I feel like I get one of my “woman points” taken away not having the baby naturally. I won’t lie when I say it hasn’t been a little fun to share my She-Woman prego story regarding my first born, and after that escapade, a C-section seems like the easy way out. But, I’m working on giving that all to God. It doesn’t matter if I have an awesome tale of strength and super human women-ness to share or not…the whole process is just the means to the wonderful gift that is my baby. And let’s face it, with my track record so far, a C-section is a much safer bet for both baby and I.
So, I’m coming to terms with the possibility of having a C-section, preparing my home for the new arrival, and since Valentine’s Day will be spent in the hospital loving on my new bundle of joy and my sleepy husband, I’ve decided to forgo any major Valentine’s Day craft projects. I will be having a Valentine’s card making night at my mom’s early February, but other than that, my house is red-less.
But I couldn’t let these adorable and fun crafts go to waste, so I thought I would share them with you!
