Great Great Grandma Muriel’s Quilt of Many Colors

Prepare yourself for color overload! A couple of years ago, my Aunt asked if I wanted my Great Grandmother’s quilt that she had made….at the time, I wasn’t to sure what to think of it, so I folded it nicely and placed it on top of Liam’s armoire, knowing it was a family heirloom and something special.
As I was rocking Cohen this afternoon, I looked up and saw the quilt. I suddenly realized I loved it and knew the boys would to. I pulled it down, shook it out in the fresh air and threw it in the dyer with a lavender satchel since it smelled musty.
When the boys woke up from their nap, I had it laid out on the living room floor. Liam immediately ran over to it, laying down as he started talking with excitement as he pointed to all the different colors and patterns. I laid Cohen on his tummy and watched as he to got big-eyed and excited over all the colored wonderfulness!

We played for the next 2 hours on that blanket, pointing out colors, flowers and anything else we could find. Why hadn’t I pulled this out sooner! It is a stunning quilt and the amount of work she put into it is incredible!

Look at all the different fabric pieces and the different stitches! Grandma had talent!

When Jerad got home from work, we decided to take Cohen’s 4 month (Getting so big!!) pictures on it….then it turned into a fun filled family photo session. Here are a few of my favorites…
