Sidewalk Chalk Paint DIY

While out enjoying the WONDERFUL cool breezes in the backyard, Liam started getting a lil’ restless with his outdoor toys…and an activity was needed.
I remembered seeing a pin on Pinterest (of course) about making your own sidewalk paint! the recipe was easy enough and Liam loves to paint, and painting on anything but paper even better!

Simply mix 1 cup Cornstarch with 1 cup water and add food coloring! Sadly we were out of food coloring so our paint was white…called it SideWalk Snow Painting! Clever I know! 🙂

He loved it, I loved it and our creative juices were flowing! I brought out all sorts of different kinds of brushes and we made a white chalky masterpiece!

Once it dried, it looked just like sidewalk chalk, and easily brushed right off our hands!

The only downer about this activity was the fact that after we were all done, and I hosed down the cement, the cornstarch never really went away.  I still have a light dusting of it across my patio…apparently it doesn’t dissolve well.  Oh well, its all in the name of making memories right?!
