Tis’ the Holiday Season!

I’m sitting in bed, relaxing as my Vegetarian Chili with Sweet Potatoes simmers in my crock pot and my toddler tries to take a nap (the wind is blowing so hard that all my older windows are rattling and even my inside shades are moving!). So I thought I would catch up on some blogging!

Right before Thanksgiving, a group of us moms got together with all our munchkins and decorated turkey cookies! It was such a fun time, and it’s always nice to be able to hang out with other women who are in the similar walk of life as I am! Liam had more fun eating his cookie than actually decorating it, but I made sure to treat him to lots of colorful sprinkles!

I don’t know what your holidays usually look like, but ours tend to be pretty busy! Last Thanksgiving we had four different places to be, which can get pretty crazy…not to mention fattening! This year though we decided to travel with my parents to my dad’s side of the family for a Thanksgiving reunion in Santa Cruz! We were so excited to see everyone, get out of town, and only eat one massive turkey dinner! But sadly our lil’ man got a pretty nasty cold and decided that it was better not to infect everyone else. So we stayed home. But thankfully my parents stayed in town also and spent the day with us, knowing they risked getting sick from kissey face Liam! 🙂 What great parents/grandparents! My dad headed over to Safe Way grocery store were for $35 dollars he bought a whole pre-cooked Thanksgiving feast: 16lb turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce (my favorite), rolls and pumpkin pie! It was delicious, and we didn’t have to have frozen pizza for dinner! After a few games, a movie, tons of play time with Nana & Papa we all called it an early night…but it turned out to be such a nice relaxing Thanksgiving even with a sick baby! We had a lot to be thankful for!
here is what most of our Thanksgiving holiday looked like….a lil’ fresh air walk hunting for leaves and LOTS of cuddle time!
