A Sailboating 1st Birthday with Rain and Shine

My precious baby boy is no longer a baby…..he is now One Year Old! While I was pregnant and even as Liam was a newborn, I wanted to pinch the next person who told me to enjoy every moment because it flies by….but they were right (insert humbled face).
I decided that Sailboats would be the theme for his birthday party, and since I always “go big or go home” with everyone else’s parties, I had to do the same with Liam’s. So I was a sewing, gluing, cutting and crafting crazy woman getting everything ready. It was to be a BBQ and swimming party with my dad’s 12ft sailboat as the photo booth for our guests….all 55 of them! Blood, sweat and tears went into every detail, and the week of the party was upon us; so was the thunderstorms predicted for that weekend. More tears. It couldn’t rain during MY party! I became totally stressed, but then remembered that God works all things out for good. So I prayed. Prayed hard. Prayed for God’s will, not my own, but I did mention to HIM that it would be a wonderful testimony to be able to say that we prayed for sunshine and HE provided. But, HIS will, not mine.
The big day came, and we kept praying. Then through the dark grey clouds popped out beautiful blue sky! God provided! We had a gorgeous, warm and sunny day throughout the entire party and as we were folding up that last chair to head home, it poured cats and dogs! It was an incredible day and I think Liam had a blast! Here are a few pictures from his special day!

The amazingly cute and ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS cupcakes were done by my dear friend Kym Wolf from Swirls.
