You just got to go with it…..

Today, while we were lounging in the backyard, Liam pulled out the garden hose and dragged it to the porch. Naturally he wanted me to turn it on, and although it is September, I obliged because it was still 100 degrees (come on Fall!!). After filling up his water table, and cleaning off the porch and all the furniture, he turned to my freshly potted plants. At first, I thought “This is great! Now I don’t have to water!” But after about 3 minutes on the same small pot, I started to get a little nervous. I could just hear my small delicate cilantro screaming out that it was drowning. Do I stop him or do I let him continue on because he obviously thought he was helping mommy out? I decided to let him carry on. What is one cilantro plant, and maybe a couple flowers worth compared to watching my son learn? Needless to say I’m quite glad we have a few more hot weathered days so maybe my plants will have a chance at survival, and I don’t have to water for the next couple days. But Liam wasn’t the only one learning, I’ve learned that with kids, sometimes you’ve just got to go with it!
