A lil’ Master Bedroom Pick Me Up

So I’ve ignored my master bedroom for quite a while, actually since we’ve moved in. 😉 I’ve focused on every other room in my home and neglected one of the most important! A master bedroom is supposed to be a sanctuary, a place of relaxation and mine was driving me nuts! Here is the before picture…ewwww.

Everything was mismatch and dull. The overwhelming white walls mixed with horrible white shades drove me absolutely bonkers. But sadly, painting was not an option. My plan was to try and use mostly what I already had, and surprisingly I did! The only purchases I had to make was fabric, a curtain rod and I treated myself to a couple new picture frames and pretty pale blue mercury glass vase! Not to bad if I do say so myself!

With some of the fabric I bought, I filled some frames and painted an “H” for above our bed.

I also had enough fabric to make the two matching blue pillows to tie in the rest of it. In the beginning, I wanted to get rid of all of the orange, but since I haven’t found bedding I like yet, I decided just to keep it, and the orange and blue mix is really starting to grow on me!

The four circular frames I found at a garage sale a few months ago and they were a horrible color and had strange pictures in them, but I loved the look of the frames. So, I simply painted them and filled them with scrapbooking paper!

When I first bought the fabric for the curtains, I liked it. I had dragged my mother and Liam all over the fabric store, being very indecisive and then finally chose this. 🙂 Then I drove home, and being the crazy prego I am, I decided I didn’t like it. I stared at it for a week, threatened to give it away, then all of the sudden, I LOVED IT! So up they went and beautifully broke up some of the awful white and hid part of the nasty vertical blinds.

So, what do you think?
